China-aided Kunlong Bridge in Myanmar Launched a Bridge Closure Ceremony

On April 12, the bridge closure ceremony of the China-aided Kunlong Bridge in Myanmar was held at Kunlong Township, Shan State, with the attendance of Mr. Yin Wenjiang, Deputy Secretary-General of Lincang Municipal People's Government of Yunnan, U Soe Win Myint, Deputy Director General of Department of Bridge, Ministry of Construction of Myanmar, and representatives of related departments of both countries. Mr. Yin Wenjiang and U Soe Win Myint also delivered speeches.

The project commenced on December 10, 2020. Specialists from China stepped up the process as scheduled, irrespective of difficulties such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The 286-meter-long bridge, stretching over the Salween River, will get paved and be supported with traffic safety facilities and landscaping projects after the middle sections get joined. The bridge is expected to be completed in June this year.
