Handover Ceremony for Humanitarian Supplies Delivered by the Chinese Government to Myanmar in Response to the Cyclone Mocha Disaster Held

On July 21, the Handover Ceremony for Humanitarian Supplies Delivered by the Chinese Government to Myanmar in Response to the CycloneMocha Disaster was held at the Port of Yangon. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai, and Counselor Ouyang Daobing attended the ceremony.

After the cyclone Mocha hit Myanmar, the Chinese government provided humanitarian supplies worth RMB 9 million and cash aid totaling RMB 1 million to Myanmar. The first batch of supplies arrived in Myanmar by air shortly after the disaster. The 190 tons of supplies delivered to Myanmar this time include food, water purification tablets, disinfection tablets, water pumps, generators, portable solar lamps and tents, which will play a positive role in the resumption of normal production and daily life for people in the disaster-stricken areas and embody the spirit of building a China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
