The Embassy of China in Myanmar Hosted the Reception Celebrating the 74th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China

On September 26, the Embassy of China in Myanmar hosted the Reception Celebrating the 74th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China in Yangon. Over 500 people attended the event, including Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein, representatives from various Myanmar departments, military, friendly political parties, social organizations, as well as diplomats from other countries, overseas Chinese, and representatives from Chineseenterprises. The reception began with the national anthems of both countries, followed by a speech by Ms. Cao Jing, Chargé d'affaires ad interim of the Embassy.

Ms. Cao Jing stated that over the past 74 years, the Communist Party of China has united and led Chinese people strive for the goal of building a strong nation and achieving national rejuvenation, making remarkable development achievements. This year marks the beginning of fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the 45th anniversary of the reform and opening-up policy. It is also the 10th anniversary of the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. This year, China's economy has performed well with high-quality development being steadily promoted with great resilience, potential and vitality. China's unswerving pursuit of Chinese path to modernization will bring new development opportunities to all countries around the world including Myanmar and inject new impetus into global economic recovery and sustainable development.

China has always advocated peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefits. We are providing Chinese solutions for a world beset by turmoil, putting forward Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative. This morning, China released the white paper "A Global Community of Shared Future: China's Proposals and Actions", calling on all countries to uphold the concept of a shared future, fully communicate and consult with each other, share governance responsibilities, so as to inject confidence and momentum into humanity’s drive towards a bright future. The Hangzhou Asian Games, which demonstrates the unity of Asia, is underway. China will endeavor to present to the world an exciting event with Chinese characteristics and Asian style, to enhance the friendship among the peoples of Asian countries. In October, China will host the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. We are willing to take this opportunity to deepen exchange and cooperation with all parties and make greater efforts to promote global development.

Ms. Cao Jing stated that China and Myanmar treat each other with sincerity, and the profound Pauk Phaw friendship between the two countries is growing deeper. President Xi Jinping's historic visit to Myanmar in 2020 opened a new chapter in China-Myanmar relations. Both sides are working together to implement the outcomes of the visit, solidly promoting the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future. China's friendly policy towards Myanmar is aimed at benefiting all the people of Myanmar. In the face of the Covid-19 pandemic and the extremely severe cyclonic Storm Mocha, China extended a helping hand to Myanmar in the first instance, assisting the Myanmar people in overcoming difficulties and improving their livelihoods. China has cooperated with and provided support to Myanmar in the fields of economy and trade, culture and education, poverty alleviation, energy, and connectivity. China sincerely hopes for the stabilization and economic development of Myanmar and the well-being of its people, supports Myanmar in exploring a path of development in line with its national conditions. We are willing to work together with Myanmar to give new contemporary significance to the traditional Pauk Phaw friendship between our two countries and bring more benefits to our peoples.

The reception was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Ms. Cao Jing, Chargé d'affaires ad interim and Deputy Prime Minister U Win Shein cut the cake and toasted together. Guests from all walks of life praised China's development achievements and the results of cooperation between China and Myanmar in various fields, and talk about the Pauk Phaw friendship.

Videos on China's development and China-Myanmar cooperation were also played at the reception. Guests were presented with China Today and Pauk Phaw magazinespecial issue for the National Day, as well as CDs and books on China's development, culture, scenery, and folk custom.
