Chinese Ambassador Li Junhua vowed to continue to closely follow Myanmar's reform and development as well as contribute to the promotion of bilateral friendship and cooperation.

           

The Ambassador is returning to Beijing after concluding his tenure in Yangon of over two years and two months. From 22 February to 5 March, the Ambassador paid farewell calls to Myanmar leaders, including President U Thein Sein, Vice President Dr. Sai Mauk Kham and U Nyan Tun, Speaker of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw U Khin Aung Myint, Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw Thura U Shwe Mann, the Commander-in-Chief Vice Sen-Gen Min Aung Hlaing as well as union ministers.

The Ambassador positively appraised the bilateral exchanges and cooperation in all areas over the past two year before expressing his appreciation to the kind support extended to himself from the Myanmar side.

     

In return, the Myanmar leaders thanked the Ambassador for his efforts to promote to the friendly cooperation between the two nations and urged him to continue such efforts. "Myanmar highly values the mutually beneficial cooperation between us and would like to continue to work together with the Chinese side towards strengthened exchanges between governments, parliaments, parties and peoples", the leaders sadi, " so as to promote the further development of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership".

           

Amb. Li also bid farewell to U Thay Oo, Vice President of Union Solidarity and Development Party, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Chairperson of the National League for Democracy and Chairperson of Pyithu Hluttaw Committee for Rule of Law and Peace and Stability, U Kyin Maung Swe, Chairperson of the National Democratic Force.
