Foreign Minister Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Anifah Aman of Malaysia

On Aug. 28, 2013, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met at the Foreign Ministry with Foreign Minister Anifah Aman of Malaysia, who came to China for the Special China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting.

Wang Yi expressed that China-Malaysia relationship is now full of vitality and facing new opportunities for development. Both sides should strengthen cooperation to push forward China-Malaysia relations for long-term healthy, stable development.

Anifah expressed that Malaysia-China relationship has achieved remarkable development in recent years, which is truly cheerful. The Malaysian side is looking forward to greater achievements for bilateral relations.

Both sides agreed to deepen bilateral strategic cooperative partnership, to set new goals of economic and trade cooperation for the next five years, to boost the construction of Qinzhou industrial park in China and Kuantan industrial park in Malaysia, to push forward strategic cooperation in the fields of construction of railway and other major projects, of aerospace and scien-tech.

Wang Yi noted that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-ASEAN strategic partnership. The China-ASEAN relationship is standing at a new historical starting point. The Special China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting should highlight good-neighbourly friendship, focus on development and cooperation, hold in-depth discussions on deepening China-ASEAN relations.

Anifah said that China-ASEAN cooperation is the most fruitful and extensive one in ASEAN's foreign cooperation. China has already been the largest trade partner of ASEAN and ASEAN countries are very much willing to discuss with the Chinese side the deepening of practical cooperation.
